PROJECTS
REPAIRS TO EXISTING HOMES FOR THE ELDERLY
Since 2008 we have helped 14 elderly homeowners with repairs including roofing, plumbing, electrical, painting, sheetrock, replacing rotten wood, sagging flooring, etc. Many of these elderly homeowners have lived in their homes for 30 years or more, paid off their mortgages, raised their families, retired, and are now on fixed incomes. Their homes are now
40, 50 and 60 years old and need of repairs. They are trying and their children are trying to
help but it is very hard to find enough money for all the repairs that are needed. This is where
we step in to help. By helping these elderly citizens, it allows them to stay in their homes, helps
to keep the East Wynnton area in good repair and gives everyone in the community a sense of pride.
All of the donations we receive on the GAGives Day will go towards helping the elderly homeowners in the East Wynnton neighborhood with repairs to their homes.
REHAB ABANDONED FORECLOSURE HOMES
From the beginning of our organizaiton we have always looked for abandoned foreclosed homes that we could rehab and resell to qualified first time homebuyers. So far we have renovated five homes in the East Wynnton neighborhood.
ABANDONED HOUSES AND LOTS
Over the years of our existence we been able to demolish TEN abandoned boared up slum houses that were vacant in the East Wynnton neighborhood. These lots will be used for new construction the the future.
NEW CONSTRUCTION
Since 2008, we have built nine brand new homes on Thomas and 10th Streets. The new homes that have been built was funded from donations to WNH and the City of Columbus through the Community Reinvestment Division.
WNH is working very hard to change the East Wynnton area back to a desirable, safe place to raise a family...ONE HOUSE AND ONE STREET AT A TIME.
